Does your photograph look dull? Tips for color correction in Photoshop

Whether you are a rookie trying to become a professional photo editing service provider or a person looking for a photo editing company to get one of your best pictures corrected, below instructions can surely help you either to become a great photo editing service provider or to save the money that you would otherwise spend on hiring a professional.

Step 1

Open the image in Photoshop and open Info palette from Window>Info. This shows the information about the pixels of the image. RGB mode will be shown on the upper left corner of the dialog box if you are trying to correct a standard image.

Step 2

In order to change the shading of the image, select the Info palette and then choose the Color Sampler device from the menu. Pick the Average Sample with vale 3x3 from the toolbar available. A toolbar position to the Eyedropper will pop up.

Step 3

Find a spot that you think must be white or dim in shading and then select the spot with sampler apparatus. A marker will be shown on the picture with the value 1 beside it. After verifying that the point you chose is either light dim or white, repeat the action with another spot that you think must be dark or white or nonpartisan dim. Repeat the procedure until you get four such markers on the image.

Step 4

Selecting the Info Palette can show pixel details of all the spots that you have obtained from the previous step. Lightest spots will produce 245 estimations for the RGB channels while darkest will give 15 for each of the channels.

Step 5

You may observe that if your image has a shading issue the numbers at each of the spots will not be within the scope of 2 or 3 estimations with respect to each other. You can solve this by bringing all the points together by changing the bending for each of the channels. This is what most of professional companies do.

Go to Pick Layers >> New Adjustment Layer >> Curves.

Click OK.

Select Red from Channel Dropdown Rundown and then Ctrl+Click on the first spot that you have selected. This will help you with a bend line and a marker indicating where the spot in the image is on the bend. Once done this, you need to determine the quality that you want to keep for the image. To enhance the quality drag up and to reduce, drag down.  Understand that you are bringing the numbers closer to 245 for white and 15 for a darker tone.

Step 6

Repeat the previous procedure for all the spots that you have selected on the image and also with Green and Blue channels. This helps you to make specimen spots that have values between 2-3 estimations with respect to each other.

Step 7

Click OK and close the Curves Dialog once you are satisfied with the end result. If you want you can now apply different fixes that you think is necessary to make the image all the more exciting.

Correcting color of an image may sound a little daunting for the first time, but as you go about it you will understand why these service is a lucrative business for sure.
